   This year's festival was the best ever! Weather was almost perfect and attendance was excellent.
The first place winner of the cookoff was Flynn Cockfield, who then donated his $3,000 purse in memory of Robert Lawrimore, to a local drive for cancer treatment for five-year old Jamie Powell.

   The band "Too Much Sylvia" did their thing for shagging late into Friday night. Visit their site for more information on the group.

The SC BBQ Shag Festival Pageant was a resounding success with 107 beauties entering. Queen Leslie Hanna and her court were presented at the festival on Saturday.

Car buffs greatly enjoy the annual car show and contest at the pageant, sponsored by Winyah Cruisers . Visit their web site for more info, and photos of their antique and classic cars.

Hemingway cares

Caring and Sharing provides food and help with utility bills for qualified low income elderly and disabled persons. The Food Bank is open every Tuesday.
The Pee Dee Chapter of the Boys and Girls Club has the Rick Goings club located on Lewis Road in Hemingway. It's the positive place to be for kids.
Tara Hall home for troubled or abused boys gives them a good environment and helps them grow up well.
A community fund drive has been organized for 5-year-old Jamie Powell who has brain cancer. More info is available at their web page.
